SUMMARY:Schafer Richardson, LLC (SR) is a real estate investment company providing development, management, leasing, and construction services to its commercial and multifamily real estate portfolio. The primary focus of the Paralegal is to assist in-house General Counsel as needed with real estate transactions, corporate record-keeping, lease administration, and other support duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities included below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.Prepare drafts of lease agreements, purchase agreements, addendums, closing docs, and other real estate and corporate contractsUpdate reports at time of sales/acquisitionsOrganize lender approval processCorporate recordkeeping including document and file management, preparation of written actions and corporate minutes, and maintaining accurate time records Support internal departments as necessary (i.e. preparing tenant welcome letters, construction reminders)Oversee transactional due diligence activities including title and survey review Maintain and execute critical timeline, circulate, and calendarPrepare comprehensive closing checklists, file Electronic Certificate of Real Estate Value (eCRV), and coordinate internally and externally to achieve efficient closingsReview and prepare general correspondence as well as perform other clerical duties as necessary such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, handling incoming and outgoing mailManage property tax appeal processReview and research real estate transactions and company policies, as neededKnowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:High Degree of professionalismAbility to effectively communicate both inside and outside of the organizationStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent judgment, decision-making, and analytical skillsComputer proficiency required including a strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and OutlookStrong technical aptitudeSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyStrong attention to detailHigh level of integrity and dependability requiredHighly organized and able to effectively multitask, juggle competing priorities, and meet deadlinesMust maintain confidentiality of all matters relating to the companyExperience/Education RequirementsAssociate or Bachelor's degree in related field preferredParalegal certificationMinimum of 8 years of experience as a commercial real estate paralegalPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
