Job DescriptionSummary of Position: The Maintenance Manager directs maintenance personnel and operations insuring production equipment operation is efficient and downtime is minimal. Functions of the Position:Hires, trains, evaluates and manages the maintenance team including supervisors, mechanics, millwrights, technicians and machine builders. Develops and manages preventative maintenance, repair schedules and maintenance inventory. Responsible for continuous improvement of maintenance programs. Manages equipment/parts purchasing and contract services as necessary. Works with purchasing department on negotiation and any contract work as needed. Coordinates with sanitation, production and quality control on any scheduling issues and immediate needs. Works with engineering department, assists with any new equipment design, planning and installation. Continually:Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements. Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality. Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management. Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and information within assigned team and across functional areas. Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development. Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety. Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility: Titles of the positions responsible:Maintenance Supervisor Maintenance Inventory & PM Coordinator MRO Buyer Qualifications:Education, Experience, and Knowledge: Ten plus years of experience in maintenance management in the food industry, including supervisory experience. General knowledge of plumbing, electric, machine building, PLC's, and community codes. High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical education in electronics and PLC preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Skills and Competencies: Computer skills including CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System)/planning, AutoCAD software, and MS Excel. Excellent decision making, planning and leadership skills required.
