Electronic circuit designer of digital and analog control systems for power tools. Engineer will be responsible for design and verification of both hardware and firmware for control systems circuitry in various power tool applications with a focus on brushed and brushless motor control using a battery power source. No prior experience with motor controllers is required, but some knowledge of motor control and lithium battery management systems is a plus.Job functions include development of circuit schematics and PCB layouts including component selection and generation of BOMs as well as firmware architecture and development. Additionally, the engineer will be involved in the creation of production testing documents, creation and execution of verification testing, and other similar formal steps necessary before production.The candidate must have a can-do attitude, a firm grasp on electrical engineering fundamentals, a willingness to learn new technical skills, and the ability to function in a mixed technical setting - at least some of each software and hardware. An ideal candidate would be comfortable in hands-on situations (e.g., PCB rework, measurement equipment) and be able to approach problems from a theoretical perspective (e.g., simulation and calculations).
