Fixed Income Analyst

Manhattan-based hedge fund is looking to add a fixed-income investment analyst to the Investment Portfolio team. This data-intensive position offers the opportunity to directly influence the firm's investment strategies by providing crucial analysis and insights that guide capital allocation and portfolio management decisions. The role would suit someone who enjoys deep dives into data and collaborating with a team to drive investment performance. This is an investment data analyst role and supports the analysis of portfolio strategies and portfolio construction.This is not a front-office role.Responsibilities:The role will generate several important risk reports for the firm and its clients.Using Excel to generate reportsMonthly Allocation or Sector Exposure Report - requires updating dataReturn Forecasting Expectations Report - create reports, tables, and visualizations for senior managementTrade Data Report- Category of Trades by Sector- Grab raw data, organize data, and explain the resultsThe Ideal Candidate Profile:Enjoy being a data detective passionate about data-driven research and quantitative analysis to inform investment strategy and decisions.Ability to document their research findings.Interest in following credit markets and credit fundamentals.Adept at managing data and automating report generation to streamline portfolio analysis.Requirements:3+ years of experience working with financial data, data research, or data analysisBS/BA in a quantitative field: math, statistics, finance, physicsStrong quantitative and problem-solving skillsSkills in using database/spreadsheet applications (Excel)Skills in using financial modeling tools (Excel)Strong verbal and written communication skillsOutstanding data and time management skillsKeywords: Data Analyst, Fixed Income, Market Risk Analyst, Risk Reporting, Report Generation, Portfolio ConstructionPlease send resumes to Jim Geiger jeg@
