Please note, by clicking Apply, you are requesting that a Talent Acquisition Team Member reach out to you regarding further application steps.Nature of WorkThis Procurement Supervisor position is responsible for coordinating the purchase of a variety of goods and services, regulation of purchasing activities and/or maintenance of inventory, as well as supervision of professional and paraprofessional staff.Work includes purchasing specialized technical or complex goods or services requiring expert knowledge in the area of purchasing rules and guidelines. This position also leads a team that handles purchasing for multiple program offices and works within the team to ensure work is completed correctly and promptly.The Procurement Supervisor reviews the work of the team, conducts employee performance appraisals and interpretation and application of related policies and procedures. This position requires a knowledge of the state purchasing laws and regulations and a knowledge of the principles and practices of volume purchasing of goods and services.Minimum QualificationsTraining: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.ORSubstitution: Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as described below may substitute for the required training at the rate of one (1) year of experience for 30 credit hours of education.ANDExperience: Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a broad range of purchasing of commodities or services in a centralized purchasing function for use in the operation of a private industry or governmental unit, at least one (1) year of which must have been in a lead worker capacity with the centralized State Purchasing Division or a large Department's centralized Purchasing Division. Purchasing experience must be for direct use of the industry or governmental unit, not for retail sales.ORSubstitution: A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience at a rate of one (1) year of experience for 15 semester hours of education not to exceed two (2) years but will not count toward the required supervisory experience.
