Data Analyst

Function / Purpose:This position is responsible for analyzing and preparing data & analysis to internal operations team(s). The Data Analyst will work with the sales and operations teams to develop standard KPI & metrics reports and provide trending/insights as needed. This role will also help develop Control Reports for optimized Data Governance in both Fusion's operating system (TMS - transportation management system) and BI application.The following are all aspects of a business analyst's duties:Perform forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics trackingAnalyze financial and operating data and create models for decision supportReport on performance and prepare for regular leadership reviewsAnalyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvementsWork closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting & analysisEvaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecastsGuide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and proceduresProvide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimizationRecommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materialsIdentify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and excel dashboardsIncrease productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting toolsPerform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation compsMaintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and modelsProficiency with Microsoft Excel is mentioned in virtually any financial analyst job description; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)Data Analyst Job Description - Basic Qualifications1-3+ years of business finance or other relevant experience (transportation/logistics experience a plus)High proficiency in financial modeling techniquesStrong fluency with excel formulas and functionsBA or BS degree required (Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics)Strong analytical and data gathering skillsGood business acumenExperience with NetSuite is a MUST
