Our practice, NYOMIS- Briarcliff, NY, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our team!As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our oral surgeons throughout various surgical procedures. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about oral surgery and committed to delivering outstanding dental services.Responsibilities:Preparing the Treatment Room:Ensure the treatment room is clean, organized, and equipped with the necessary instruments and suppliesSterilize and maintain surgical instruments according to infection control guidelinesSet up equipment such as suction devices, dental chairs, X-ray machines, and surgical lightsAssisting with Oral Surgery Procedures:Prepare patients for oral surgery, explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns they may haveAssist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing the necessary instruments and materialsMaintain a sterile environment during surgery, following strict infection control protocolsMonitor patients' vital signs and comfort level during surgery, ensuring their well-being at all timesHandle and dispose of surgical waste and hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulationsPatient Support and Education:Provide post-operative care instructions to patients, including oral hygiene practices, medication administration, and dietary restrictionsAnswer patients' questions and concerns, offering reassurance and empathy throughout their treatment processEducate patients about oral health, prevention methods, and the importance of regular dental visitsMaintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatment plans, procedures, and progressAdministrative Duties:Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with other dental staff to ensure smooth patient flowManage patient records, update medical histories, and handle billing and insurance documentationAssist with inventory management, ordering dental supplies, and maintaining equipmentQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program is requiredValid X-ray license is highly preferredPrevious experience as a dental assistant, particularly in oral surgery, is highly desirable.Discharge experience is highly preferredKnowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials.Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measuresAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approachStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficiency in dental software and computer literacyPerks of the Job:Highly competitive salaries & annual performance and compensation reviewsCompetitive health insurance and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and more 401k retirement savings plan that includes employer matchFrom day one, you get two weeks off for vacation, sick leave, personal time, and holidaysAdvance your career growth with opportunities in the most extensive growing oral surgery practice in the NortheastAbout MAX-SSM: At MAX-SSM we are dedicated to optimizing patient outcomes through personalized care, cutting-edge technology, and unwavering professional integrity.
