This opportunity is to work for an innovative food technology company making waves in the industry giving their revolutionary approach to sustainable and ethical food production.The is an exciting time to be joining as they've recently closed a significant $50M Series A. They've also just signed a major global sales and distribution partnership, which is set to dramatically accelerate their revenue.In addition to being well capitalized, they are forecasting to be cash flow positive within the next 18 months.Your new roleThey are now seeking a dynamic and hands-on VP Finance. Reporting into the CEO, your pivotal role will encompass overseeing the financial operations of the company, implementing robust financial strategies, and working closely with cross-functional teams. You will play a crucial part in shaping the company's financial landscape, driving strategic decision-making, and contributing directly to their continued success.Key Responsibilities:Built and create a best-in-class Finance function, system implementations and ensuring accurate financial reportingOversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling to support strategic planning and decision-makingImprove financial data management to effectively track operational KPIs and department performance.Prepare monthly financial reporting (including P&L, forecast vs. budget, and cash flow, COGS, and R&D trials) for the executive team, investors and other stakeholdersWork closely with operations to ensure to support operational and strategic goals, including cross-functional projects, product development, marketing, and supply chain managementEnsure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, including tax filings, audits, and internal controls.Expand and further standardize accounting and financial processes across the entire organization; lead the monthly accounting close and reporting processPrepare and present financial performance updates and forecasts to investors boardBuild and manage a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.Oversee the development and analysis of COGS, ensuring cost optimization without compromising product qualityCollaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to implement cost-effective production practices and improve resource allocation.Establish and monitor BOMs to accurately reflect production costs and drive profitability.Develop metrics and KPIs to track manufacturing efficiency, waste reduction, and overall production cost savingsYour experience Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.Proven experience in a finance leadership role within an early stage, manufacturing / food company is essentialStrong background in cost accounting, financial tracking, and data management.Experience with ERP system implementation and managing audits.Ability to build financial infrastructure and processes from scratchHands-on approach with a willingness to be hands onExcellent cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with other leaders.BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision PlansSTD/LTD, Life and AD&D policiesFSA, HRA, and Mental Health Program Benefits401K ProgramCommuter Benefits20 Paid Days Off + 9 Company HolidaysPaid Family Leave ProgramOngoing Team Events, including Weekly Friday Lunches
