A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a Clinical Risk Manager to join their Quality and Risk Department. This role is essential for promoting patient safety, improving the quality of care, and mitigating organizational risk by managing day-to-day risk management activities.Responsibilities:The Clinical Risk Manager will be responsible for:Planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to risk identification, prevention, and evaluationInvestigating and analyzing risk management data in accordance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies, including CMS and the New York State Department of HealthDeveloping recommendations to prevent and reduce the frequency and severity of adverse eventsPromoting a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment that prioritizes patient careSupporting compliance with hospital policies, including those related to customer service, training, and conductQualifications:Bachelor's degreeCurrent NYS RN licensure3-5 years in clinical risk management or quality assurance in a healthcare settingCertification in risk management (e.g., CPHRM)Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, including The Joint Commission and CMSProven ability to analyze and interpret risk management dataExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsEffective problem-solving and decision-making capabilitiesProficiency in developing and implementing quality improvement initiativesDesired Skills:Master's degree in a related fieldFamiliarity with patient safety protocols and hospital risk management systemsExperience with regulatory compliance and accreditation processesAbility to foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
