Gather Resources is seeking an intuitive Underwriter to join our client's growing team in Irving, TX. Our client offers the latest technology in credit card processing, point-of-sale equipment, advanced security solutions, and integrated payments.As an Underwriting Analyst, you will review and analyze merchant applications to qualify their creditworthiness. Utilize existing tools and procedures and follow appropriate credit policies and guidelines to mitigate overall financial and reputational risk exposures.Key Underwriting FunctionsReview merchant applications using different Underwriting tools. Gather all information required to make a comprehensive assessment of a merchant's creditworthiness, including credit reports, TIN/OFAC checks, identity theft, bank account, and address verificationWork with partners to ensure compliance with various industry requirementsWork closely with the Underwriting departments of our banks to ensure timely approval of merchant accountsAnswer internal and external inquiries regarding Underwriting issuesPrepare monthly reporting required by partner banks on the performance of the credit card processing portfolioKeep ISOs up to date on the status of their applications. Advocate on ISO's behalf to get credit card processing deals approvedAudit of auto-approvalsAny other tasks as assignedCommunicate Actions and Outcomes Place and receive phone calls to and from independent sales organizations (ISOs) and merchants to obtain necessary informationNotify the referring ISO/Agent of any special requirements for approving a credit card processing agreementProvide excellent service to all constituents through proactive and ongoing communication during the life cycle of each merchant accountSkills RequiredStrong deductive reasoning skills; can infer the complete picture using information gathered from multiple sourcesAble to read and fully understand Personal and Business Credit Reports to assess a merchant's financial condition and wherewithal to handle the obligations of a merchant credit card processing accountProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsEnjoys identifying patterns or recognizing aberrations; likes to get to the bottom of the story indicated by the clues they surfaceTakes calculated risks and learns from mistakesSpeaks in a clear, poised, and convincing mannerWrites in a professional style that remains succinct, polite, and on-point.
