A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking an experienced Executive Director of Nursing for Ambulatory Care Services (RN) to oversee the nursing operations for all ambulatory care services for the health network. This key leadership role requires strategic vision, operational expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic outpatient environment.Responsibilities:The Executive Director of Nursing for Ambulatory Care Services (RN) will be responsible for:Leading and managing nursing operations across all ambulatory care clinics, ensuring high standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirementsDeveloping and implementing strategic plans for ambulatory nursing services to align with hospital goals and prioritiesCollaborating with clinical and administrative leaders to optimize workflows, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the patient experienceProviding mentorship and professional development opportunities for nursing leaders and staffMonitoring quality metrics, patient satisfaction scores, and financial performance to drive continuous improvement initiativesOverseeing staffing, recruitment, and retention strategies to maintain a highly skilled nursing workforceEnsuring compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements specific to ambulatory care settingsManaging budgets and resource allocation to support operational efficiency and financial sustainabilityActing as a liaison between ambulatory nursing and hospital leadership to align goals and address system-wide challengesLeading organizational change initiatives to adapt to evolving healthcare environments and patient needsQualifications:Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related fieldCurrent RN license in New York StateMinimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in ambulatory or outpatient care settingsDemonstrated expertise in strategic planning, operations management, and quality improvementStrong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements for ambulatory careExceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in budget management and resource allocationDesired Skills:Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or related advanced degreeCertification in ambulatory care nursing or nursing administration (e.g., NEA-BC, CNAA)Experience leading large-scale change initiatives in complex healthcare organizationsStrong relationship-building and collaborative skills
