Our client, an American electric vehicle manufacturer, is actively looking for an Automotive Technician to join their team in Dallas, TX!This role is onsite so local candidates are required.This is a 6 month contract with the opportunity to extend or convert based on performance. The 2 shifts that are available are Mon-Fri from 8AM-5PM OR Tues-Sat from 8AM-5PM.This Automotive Technician will be responsible for working with internal partners every day to assist with service needs and coordinate with the Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineer teams. Experience in automotive, process standardization, continuous improvement, and managing escalations is a plus!ResponsibilitiesAbility to assist in daily Electric Delivery Van business operations often requested on an ad hoc basis, including shuttling vehicles back and forth from delivery stationsConduct pre-delivery inspections on new vehicles, using a documented process, checklist, and guidelinesDocument results (pass/fail) of pre-delivery inspections and communicate results to team members/supervisorFollow repair procedures with efficiency without compromising quality and safetyPerform or assist with assigned diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehiclesAssist and support vehicle repairs in a setting outside of a service centerConduct road tests on vehicles to ensure quality of the repairPerform necessary parts operations such as parts ordering, receiving, shipping and inventoryStay up to date with technical skills and required trainingMaintain and process accurate expense reporting as neededMaintain high quality work and efficiency while working with little supervisionRequired Skills & ExperienceHS Diploma or GED preferred; Diploma from an accredited automotive repair school is preferred1-5+ years of experience in an automotive specific repair environment (pay rate will be determined based on years of experience)Proficient in using hand tools and power toolsExperience using a work order management system including repairs documentationAbility to drive non-commercial truck & trailer preferredMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; minimum age of 21No driving related suspensions within the last 3-5 yearsAbility to read and speak fluent EnglishMust be available for a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays depending on business need
