Network Engineer

Job Description:Position: [Network Administrator]Type: [Full-time]Locations - New York City and Westchester County, New YorkOur client, a reputable higher education institution, is seeking a dedicated Network Administrator to join their team and support the ongoing development and maintenance of their network infrastructure. Responsibilities:Ensure the upkeep of existing network infrastructure and oversee the upgrading, configuring, and deployment of new equipment across new and existing office sites.Supervise and track network traffic, promptly identifying any issues that may affect users or internal services.Monitor computer systems to optimize performance for networks.Maintain servers and associated network gear, ensuring their smooth operation.Handle the configuration of firewall rules, switch port settings, and Wireless Access Points.Provide recommendations for enhancements to boost network performance.Spearhead the planning and execution of new network security measures, in line with guidance from the Security team.Investigate and resolve network vulnerabilities as identified by the security team.Propose adjustments to enterprise network configurations to enhance security posture.Establish and configure VLANs to segregate network traffic, bolstering network security.Collaborate closely with the Security and Infrastructure teams to streamline operations and enhance overall network integrity. Qualifications: Required:Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a Network Administrator role.Strong understanding of network administration, software deployment, and networking concepts with hands-on experience with firewalls (Cisco Meraki), TCP/IP protocols, and public DNS. Preferred:Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, Security+, CYSA, MCSA, and AWS.Experience supporting Data Science teams and research applications.Cloud experience (AWS).
