Our client is launching a new lifestyle/active brand, and they are seeking a Director of Sales who has spent time in a competitive space and has relationships. Must have current relationships with the outdoor/active specialty chains ( example REI, Dicks Sporting Goods, Academy and/or some department stores) . As the Director of Sales,you will be responsible for introducing and initiating contacts of this compelling lifestyle brand which works back to a footwear brand. This role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with stores/buyers/customers and ensuring alignment with their brand identity.The salary range for this role is $140-160,000 based on relevant experience plus bonus.Responsibilities:Strategically cultivate new accounts and seek opportunities to expand business with existing accounts; strategize means to penetrate new markets; oversee development and maintain business relationships with customersGuide research and competitive analysis; interpret relevant trends and communicate with internal partners where appropriateOversee the development of the line plan in context of larger assortment and cost structure; review and approve seasonal business proposals for each customer with suggested assortments based on marketplace and customer baseCollaboratively devise and articulate brand positioning and key strategic initiatives for brand where appropriate; strategize optimal placement in-store including, where applicable, in-store fixturesLead regular review of shipments and orders, sales and stock levels, merchandising and markdowns with Account ExecutivesGuide strategies and approve recommendations to maximize sales and minimize markdownsTravel frequently to customer locations to meet with leadership and ensure proper in-store execution; attend trade shows as necessaryManage planning and replenishment businessManage the cultivation, development, and maintenance of relationships with new and existing customers at DMM level and below in both specialty stores and department storesOversee communications and feedback between customers and internal partners in Sales, Design, Production, and Retail CoordinatorsPartner with planning and customers to oversee co-op, allowances, and givebacksContribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessaryTrain and coach junior team members in selling, negotiating, and presentation skillsMonitor and evaluate the performance of individuals and teamsAttract, develop, and retain talentQualifications:Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented and outgoingAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines, highly detail oriented and meticulousExperience selling into outdoor specialty chains as well as Sporting Goods doorsStrong analytical skills and fluency in retail mathBachelor's degree preferred5-8 years of experience in wholesale apparel salesProficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP a plusTravel requiredIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.The Solomon Page DistinctionOur teams, comprised of subject matter experts, develop an interest in your preferences and goals and we act as an advisor for your career advancement.
