The Production and Test Engineering Manager Responsibilities:Provide leadership and achieve production output in accordance with cost, quality, and schedule requirements, while ensuring a safe environmentDrive engineering, through the design and development process, challenging them to make high yielding and reproducible products. Develop operations-related plans, budgets, and policies, and procedures.Be a leader in cross-functional environments. Promote the performance of the manufacturing organization consistent with company objectives of on-time delivery, high responsiveness, high reliability, and competitive cost structureImplement lean methodologies to improve cycle time, and to reduce cost. Establish budget, plan and implement Capital expenditure requirements in support of the plan. Maintain flexible, motivated cross-trained workforce to leverage and optimize resources to dynamic output requirements. Achieve goals and metrics as agreed to with management. Participate in capacity planning as required. Coordinate all activities of the supervisors in the areas of scheduling, material handling, equipment, assembly, testing and shipping of the product. Coordinate training and set expectations for cell teams in safety, equipment, operations, troubleshooting, corrective action, productivity and quality. Tie the expectations to the Company goals through performance planning. Collaborate with technical, financial, and materials support teams in resolving problems and developing improved manufacturing processes. Provide team with measurement tools and expectations to report critical operating parameters. This will include automated and manual tests. Interview, hire and train required resources for permanent and temporary assignments to meet production capacity requirements. Production and Test Engineering Manager Requirements:Solid educational background (BS/BA preferred) emphasizing mechanical and electronics assembly or Industrial operations in a technical environment. 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Operational Excellence programs and Continuous Improvement in leadership and contributing roles. Must have excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills; including the ability to interface with internal & external customer contacts. Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization. Must possess a high level of initiative and independent decision-making ability. Establish and maintain facility environmental, safety, and health standards to minimizeemployee and community exposure. Must possess solid computer skills and working with production software, excel spreadsheets and other reporting applications. Knowledge of quality systems and standards with a focus on creating improvement standards that are based on the practices of root cause analysis. Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices. Knowledge of business, finance and management principles as well as the ability to review and comprehend financial reports.
