LocationSterling Heights Position RequirementsEssential Functions:Requirements analysis, derivation, decomposition and management activitiesResearch and analyze solutions to meet customer requirementsPerform trade studies to compare alternative approachesCreate and maintain electrical power budgets and allocationsDevelop vehicle electrical (signal, network and video) and power distribution concepts and architecturesIntegration of military lethality, survivability and C5ISR systemsDevelop requirement specifications, drawings, schematics and ICDsPerform analytical analysis and simulations to evaluate system performanceSupport CPU, GPU, FPGA, power distribution and harness designs and integrationUnderstand/create/review test requirements and plansSupport/Monitor prototype development, Component procurement and prototype build/integration/test activities and analyze resultsSupport system-integration-lab (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) activitiesTroubleshoot issues and perform corrective actionsSupport/Monitor Vehicle test and analyze resultsInteract with internal/external customers and suppliersUnderstand/create/Manage project schedulesMaintain project open issues lists and Prepare/present project statusSupport multidiscipline concurrent engineering activitiesMinimum Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)Working Knowledge ofSystems model based design and related Standards/ProcessesDigital, analog, low/high-voltage power, computing bus architecture and RF (radios, GPS, ...)Mechatronics and electrical vehicle engineering and integration principlesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work effectively with the US and overseas management, staff, teams, suppliers, and customersMust be able to communicate effectively and explain complex technical concepts and instructions in a variety of settings in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topicAbility to engage with an enthusiasm to establish productive relationships, promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork to ensure all across the organization and its external service providers have the information and opportunity to perform to the best of their abilitiesSuperior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is requiredMust be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for othersMust display exceptional listening and analytical skills in order to understand customer concerns and needs with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to those needsShall support and encourage performance by motivating individuals and teams to achieve high performanceWill clarify and define the goals and strategies of the organization and successfully communicate this to allHigh level of self-motivation and standards with the ability to multi-task; balancing "analysis" with "doing"Must be adaptable and able to prioritize and work on own initiative and under pressure to meet deadlinesFamiliarity with the US DoD ground vehicle requirements, US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and acquisitionFamiliarity with the US Army TACOM / TARDEC / GVSC organizationsCurrently holds or has the ability to obtain SECRET US Defense clearanceEducation:BSc Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Computer Science, Systems, Aerospace, Automotive)Experience:5 years of Vetronics experienceExperience in delivering large complex US Defense programsApplied working knowledge in the domain of electrical engineering design and systems integration, with a proven track record of product development throughout the entire product lifecycleExperience with standard bus protocols (CANBus, Ethernet, Serial communications)Experience with military Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systemsHands on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzersExperience with proposals, bid capture, contract negotiations and delivery planningPractical "˜hands on' attitude with the ability to operate independentlyDetailed knowledge of Military Standards and regulationsExperience of working in a multi-discipline, multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environmentExperience with engineering and supply chain management in a highly regulated industryBackground Prerequisites:Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to speak German desired
