Compressor Application Electrical Engineer - EMC

Hanon Systems, a global supplier of innovative automotive thermal and energy management solutions, is seeking an Application Engineer to join our team in our Americas Innovation Center in Novi, MI. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-voltage electric compressor electronics especially all EMC-related activities.Primary Responsibilities:EMC evaluation of PCM designsEMC test plan generation, including customer approvalLead/conduct developmental EMC testing at Novi and Hanon Systems European facilitiesOversight of EMC testing at customer-approved facilitiesResolve EMC-related issues during product validation, launch, and in warrantyLead the design, release, development, prototyping, testing, and launch of electric compressor electronic modulesInterface with the customer; negotiate packaging and technical trade-offsPerform PCB layout and designConduct component-level bench testingAssess testing results and develop corrective actionsSummarize customer specifications and interface with power and control engineersDevelop and maintain a Bill of Materials, and provide direction to suppliersRelease and sign-off of drawingsExecute and document all required product design corporate deliverables.Interface with Hanon global PD and manufacturing activities.Years of Experience:5+ years of related experience within a design engineering environment, preferably with automotive thermal management products, especially compressorsEducation:Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Electrical or Computer Engineering preferredDesired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications:3+ years of EMC design and testing - MandatoryDemonstrated ability to design, develop, test, and launch automotive componentsUnderstanding of HVAC/thermal and /or power inverter principlesExperience in interpreting customer electrical hardware and software specificationsExperience in quality disciplines such as DFMEA, SCIFS, etcExperience in project planning and management; ability to apply problem-solving skillsAbility to conduct technical design reviewsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointPractical experience with Altium or other electronics CAD toolsEMC experience desirableSpecial Requirements:Travel required to suppliers, customers, and manufacturing plants during launch; international as required.What We Offer:At Hanon Systems, we provide a competitive benefits package focused on employee well-being and work-life balance.Medical, dental, and vision program optionsRetirement savings plan (401k)Paid time offTuition assistanceHanon Systems recognizes our employees' critical role in the company's success.
