Development ManagerPosition DescriptionWho We AreFounded in 2003, Danny's Place is a 501c3 organization that provides young people with experiences to explore, create, and discover their happiest, healthiest selves through inclusive community programming, social-emotional experiences, and supportive resources. Our programming follows our three core focus areas: mental health & wellness, self-exploration & life skills, and leadership & community-building. The PositionDanny's Place seeks a 24 hour per week Development Manager, a new position created to help us expand our fundraising program to support our expansion into our new 2-floor space in West Acton. of This role is ideal for those who have a passion for making a positive impact in our community. As Danny's Place continues to grow and reach more members of the community, the Development Manager will play a crucial part in designing and executing a development strategy.This position reports to the Executive Director and will work in collaboration with the Program Manager and Operations Manager to develop initiatives that will increase community awareness and support of Danny's Place. Candidates should have a background in planning and executing non-profit fundraising activities. The position is part-time with in-office work taking place within the Acton-Boxborough area. Position requires in-person work to start" with the "option for hybrid work after onboarding. Additionally, the position may require in-person attendance at DPYS and community events.Essential FunctionsThe Development Manager will:Develop and execute the annual development plan in collaboration with the Executive Director to fulfill the annual fundraising strategy and goals.Use prospect research tools and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and cultivate relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners to secure gifts, sponsorships, and grants.Manage the donor database (Little Green Light), including data entry, reporting, and systems updates, to guide stewardship of existing donors and growth of prospects.Draft compelling communications to individual donors and for broad appeals and other fundraising efforts, and serving as project manager with freelance contractors to produce larger-scale mailings or materials.Process all gifts and issuing prompt receipt/acknowledgment to donors in collaboration with Operations ManagerServe as point person for the Development Committee, including preparation of materials and reports to guide strategy discussion and fielding questions from committee members. Organize and participate in special events (occasional evenings and weekends)Remain informed about best practices in philanthropy and strategizing with leadership on opportunities for improving annual fund implementationQualifications:Experience, Knowledge, Skill, and AbilityThe ideal candidate will possess:Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of young people Development experience in a non-profit, educational, or public service environment, 5 years minimum.Experience with fundraising and meeting targets.A creative, self-starter attitude with an entrepreneurial spirit.Superb written, verbal, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.Technologically savvy and knowledgeable, including, but not limited to, Google tools and donor CRM software and tools.A bachelor's degree, additional degrees, and fundraising certificates are advantageous.How To Apply:Please submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information to Katie Gorczyca at katie@.
