Come join our growing team!The Customer Service Hazmat Coordinator will manage the terminal operations and documentation processes for all international & domestic cargo shipments utilizing various modes of transport for a dynamic organization. This role highlights the Hazmat documentation process as a whole to ensure safety and compliance. Also responsible for managing all data relevant to all bookings and communication between LGL and customers (both commercial and military), tracking and tracing of all cargo and documentation, all terminal reports, EDI for specific cargo types, and communication with agents.Duties and Responsibilities: Hazmat DocumentationTrack and trace all documentation for hazmat cargo (military & commercial) for inland and ocean moves, including;Ensuring the receipt of all hazardous cargo documentationFile and record all hazmat documentationVerify hazmat documentation against bookingsMonitor all hazmat changes and ensure documentation accuracyLiaison with the Operations department to ensure all hazmat cargo is vessel compliantCoordinate with the Logistics department (inland moves) and Port Captains (ocean moves) to ensure all hazmat is being tracked, monitored and reported accordingly.Create and distribute Dangerous Good ManifestBooking Process for Commercial cargoesCreate bookings for commercial customers/maintain bookings databaseEnsure bookings are properly conveyed to internal and external parties via the cargo trackersReview On Ground reports and Release Lists for accuracy after creationAssist in managing the OTO process with the support of the Assistant Customer Service ManagerCreate, Update and Maintain Cargo Tracker Reports for every voyageKeep track of booking modification emails that come in and update cargo tracker if necessary and alert appropriate team members when applicableRequired Delivery Date (RDD) maintenance for all Military bookings to ensure we are meeting customer requirementsCargo Tracking and TracingDaily review of bookings and on ground inventories to ensure cargo is being delivered against bookingsInterface with customers on estimated arrivals to the ports for all unitsRequesting VGMs from customers and updating the Cargo TrackerInterface with customers to ensure titles/documents for customs clearance are sent timelyCargo Inventory ManagementResponsible for receiving inventory and loaded reports to terminals and disseminating to internal departmentsEnsure all discrepancies are resolved and 100% cargo inventory is maintainedDocumentation & EDIEnsure all relevant EDI for all Military Liner moves happen timely and accurately per the Universal Service Contract (USC)Complete any port specific documentation sheets required, as deemed necessaryMaintain dock receipts for all cargoes from all US ports per voyageMaintain Consignee contacts per vessel for all military cargoesFile BOLs in VildenPlease refer to the Delegation of Authority for the levels of accountability.Competencies:The following competencies are essential to perform this job successfully:• Communication"”ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, while always maintaining a profession tone, demonstrates excellent verbal and written skills.• Planning/organizing"”prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans. Maritime experience is preferred but not required. Hazmat experience is preferred, but not required.
