The Claims Manager for Workers' Compensation (Healthcare) will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of workers' compensation claims on behalf of various healthcare organizations. This includes handling claims from initiation to closure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, coordinating with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers, and developing strategies to reduce claims frequency and costs for multiple clients. The role requires a deep understanding of workers' compensation laws, healthcare operations, and employee injury management.Key Responsibilities:Claims Management:Oversee the intake, processing, and management of workers' compensation claims for healthcare clients, ensuring timely and accurate handling.Review claims to determine liability and ensure accurate claim classification.Investigate employee injuries, gather medical reports, and assess the validity of claims.Coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and legal counsel to manage claims effectively.Monitor ongoing claims for cost containment and implement strategies to manage complex claims.Review and authorize settlement agreements and payments.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with state and federal workers' compensation laws and regulations across multiple client organizations.Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to insurance carriers and regulatory bodies.Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation for all client claims.Stay current with changes in workers' compensation laws and healthcare industry regulations.Employee Support and Communication:Serve as the primary point of contact for client employees regarding workers' compensation claims.Educate staff on workers' compensation policies and procedures.Ensure clear and compassionate communication with injured employees, providing guidance on claim processes and return-to-work programs.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in workers' compensation claims management, preferably in the healthcare sector.Strong knowledge of state and federal workers' compensation laws, regulations, and healthcare industry standards.Proven ability to manage multiple claims and stakeholders simultaneously.Experience with claims management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.Preferred Skills:Experience in healthcare or hospital environments.Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and propose solutions to mitigate risk.Job Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per yearSchedule:Monday to FridayExperience:Workers' compensation law: 1 year (Required)Negotiation: 1 year (Required)Stakeholder management: 1 year (Required)Ability to Commute:Brooklyn, NY 11205 (Required)Ability to Relocate:Brooklyn, NY 11205: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
