Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of designing functional audiovisual (AV) and collaboration systems based on customer needs and requirements. Work closely with Account Executives and customers directly to determine scope of work, bill of materials (BOM) and labor estimates. Through continuing education, maintain working knowledge and applications of current AV and collaboration technology. Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities: • Conduct site surveys to assess technical requirements and determine optimal system placement and integration • Design and engineer complete, working systems, including writing functional scopes of work using our (FD) scope templates • Specify all hardware, bill of materials (BOM) and professional services, including outsourced service needs, for a complete, working system • Determine if any project cost-specific conditions exist, including but not limited to prevailing wages, travel requirements, project billing milestones, overtime requirements, lifts/scaffolds and price into BOM accordingly • Support sales' customer facing efforts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure customer understanding of scope of work • Interact with sales on pricing margin or competitive circumstances • Create design phase and for-construction signal flow drawings, rack and floorplan elevations, including any necessary mechanical, electric and data requirements • Maintain working knowledge of professional design and drawing software • Provide details needed for fabrication and installation of audio, video, and control systems, including any specific configuration and programming instructions • Perform proposal peer review with PMO, PSE or other suitable resource prior to delivery to sales/customer to ensure agreement of scope • Provide input during internal project kickoff to installation and programming resources. Act as technical resource to field technical staff as needed during installation phase • Assist Project Management Office (PMO) with project complexity and resource allocation questions • Participate in evaluating, selecting and recommending new technologies on an ongoing basis • Continually seek feedback and analyze post project reporting in an effort to maintain proposal accuracy • Performs other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications and Abilities: • 5+ years experience designing complex Audio Visual solutions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices • Knowledge of Audio Video design and theory • AV field experience made up of installation, configuration, commissioning, or programming • Strong self-starter with the ability to work independently • Experience working collaboratively with Sales • AVIXA CTS or CTS-D Certification • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Ability to maintain varying pace of work • Excellent attention to details and organizational skills • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Ability to work flexible hours as needed Up to 30% travel may be required, sometimes on a last-minute basis
