As a Senior Computational Biologist at NextRNA Therapeutics, you will join an interdisciplinary team of highly creative and talented individuals whose mission is to bring a new class of small molecule medicines to patient in need. You will have a key role in identifying and validating novel long non-coding RNA targets. You will be a key team member responsible for utilizing NextMAP (TM), a NextRNA proprietary computation engine that identifies driving disease lncRNAs. Provide insights into potential therapeutic targets based on genomics and transcriptomics data, contributing to the overall drug development strategy.NGS Data Analysis: Lead and contribute to the design and execution of bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of NGS data, with a specific emphasis on RNA-seq datasets. Implement and optimize workflows for processing large-scale genomics and transcriptomics data.RNA Biology Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge in RNA biology to interpret complex sequencing data, including differential gene expression, alternative splicing, and non-coding RNA analysis. Contribute to the development of novel approaches for integrative analysis of multi-omics data.Translational Computational Biology: Bridge the gap between target discovery and clinical applications, translating molecular insights into innovative therapeutic strategies. Effectively communicate translational insights to key stakeholders.The successful applicant will contribute to advancing our understanding of long non-coding RNA biology and facilitating the development of novel therapeutic interventions, ultimately significantly impacting patient care.Key Qualifications:PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. + 5 years of industryEarly stage computationally/data driven target discovery experience is required.Demonstrable experience of working with early drug discovery team/programs.Relevant experience in disease areas such as oncology and/or neurology required.Knowledge on RNA biology is required (gene regulation at isoform level).Experience with multi-omics-sequencing data is required.Experience with building and supporting bioinformatics pipelines.Experience with statistical modeling and machine learning.Experience with programming languages (R and python), code pipeline management (Github and Nextflow) and server infrastructure (AWS) is required.This position will be on-site 5 days per week at our Boston, MA location.Come to NextRNA as your true self.
