The Contractor: We are currently partnered with a leading General Contractor/CM with operations across the North East seeking a Chief Estimator/Preconstruction Director to join their growing team in South Boston.With expertise across Multifamily, Commercial & Institutional markets, they are a premium contractor with projects ranging from $10M to $300M with over 60 years in the market.Responsibilities: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with clients, owners, and subcontractors through clear and open communication.Conduct thorough reviews of bids and presentations before final corporate evaluations.Collaborate closely with department leadership to drive pursuit efforts and win new work, with a strong focus on client satisfaction.Oversee the preconstruction and estimating teams, guiding them in securing new projects while navigating challenges.Be the first point of contact for clients, ensuring strong ongoing relationships.Offer expert advice, mentorship, and training to foster team development and professional growth.Support the business unit in setting performance targets and achieving business growth.Manage and maintain departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of overhead costs.Ensure that all preconstruction and estimating procedures are regularly evaluated, updated, and adhered to.Stay ahead of industry trends to boost the company's competitive advantage and success rate in winning projects.Possess deep knowledge of commercial construction across various sectors, such as healthcare, hospitality, high-rise, and public projects.Oversee estimators to ensure estimates and proposals are accurate, timely, and utilize resources effectively.Review and participate in client proposal presentations, offering key insights and approvals.Develop and execute strategic pursuit plans, aligning team members with key objectives and ensuring smooth implementation.Lead the estimating process by directing the team's tasks in an organized, timely manner.Requirements: Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience in estimating, project management, or construction.Experience working on projects valued at over $80M is highly desirable.Strong understanding of critical path scheduling principles.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Bluebeam & P6.Proven ability to negotiate and draft contract terms with owners and clients, working closely with the VP of Preconstruction Services.Proficient in estimating software tools such as On-Center, Insite, Timberline, or similar systems.Paying $220.000 - $300.000 Base salary.Not including bonuses & other top line benefits.
