Job DescriptionTeam Position DescriptionPosition Title: Shipping CoordinatorManagerProduction Manager.Job Description: The Shipping Coordinator Position is a "hands-on" working position that requires a positive attitude and will work as part of the materials management team to support efficient, effective, and accurate in and out control of materials in support of customer orders.Regular Duties: (not limited to as other duties may be assigned)· Pull product from warehouse using Pick Tickets or verbal instruction to support shipments.· Package product in a variety of methods (box, pallet, crate, etc.) using accepted motor carrier methods and packing to ensure safe and damage free shipment of product both nationally and internationally.· Generate Bill of Ladings.· Verify outgoing material counts and shipping addresses against pack lists, Bill of Lading, invoices, orders, or other records.· Tag or label outbound products.· Affix shipping labels on packed product ensuring proper information.· Determine proper method of shipment using instructions, knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.· Contact shipping companies and arrange shipments.· Maintain shipping log.· Track shipments.· Verify counts, weights, or measures of incoming and outgoing materials.· Generate and handle freight claims as directed.· Inspect forklifts per OSHA requirements and log inspections.· Operate manual pallet jacks and motorized fork trucks in a confined space and in a safe manner.· Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.· Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean shipping area.· Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.· Safely unload product from incoming trucks and trailers.· Safely use a variety of hand and power tools.· Multi-tasking to handle numerous orders at the same time.· Safely lift heavy products manually or using proper lifting equipment.· May direct or train others in preparing outgoing or receiving materials.Work Context:Our company is a fast-paced and customer focused organization that designs and manufactures HVAC products and systems that are installed in commercial building applications throughout the world. Our team members are in the manufacturing plant in a variety of different conditions including: sitting, standing, walking, face-to-face discussions; office, warehouse, laboratory; telephone, computer usage, and e-mailing. Some nights, weekends, overtime and travel maybe required. Safety glasses, earplugs, and appropriate head and foot protection as necessary in the lab, plant or in the field. Exposure to fumes and odors from paints and solvents, dust, and noise from the normal operation of machines, limited exposure to hazardous chemicals or oils within the plant.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:· High School Diploma (or GED) required with higher education being of benefit.· Previous experience in a shipping/warehouse position required.· Previous experience with international shipments.· Safe operation of manual and powered lift trucks.· Adequate mobility to continually walk and stand, pull orders from various shelf heights, and ability to lift products up to 70 pounds.· Clearly read and understand English.· Be responsible, dependable, and organized.· Multi-tasking to handle various orders at the same time.· Must be highly efficient and professional on the computer and with Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook or the ability to easily learn.· Familiarity and efficiency with ERP programs with Microsoft Dynamics GP being highly preferred or the ability to easily learn.· Active and effective listening and verbal communications.· Critical thinking using logic and reasoning to identify solutions, alternate solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.· Efficient and safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools.· Effective time management.· Ability to maintain attendance and punctuality.· Ability to function in a fast-paced, customer driven engineering and manufacturing environment.· Being a team player is absolutely mandatory, but equally effective when working on one's own.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $17.50 - $24.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeWork Location: In person
