The Technical Service Representative is responsisible for the support of sales activity related to Building Envelope Waterproofing & Deck Coatngs market (waterproofing, air barriers, deck coatings, others as assigned by the manager) for their assigned territory.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Inside Technical Support - support BEWDC Sales Representatives and internal departmentsAnswer Technical Questions relating to BEWDC products and applications. Support Technical Manager and Technical Sales Support.Details - Help create a detail library and job specific details using AutoCADJob submittals - help create job submittals for BEWDC Sales Representatives Write letters for new and existing projects.Have a Understanding of Building Science: Waterproofing and Air Barriers and Commercial Building Construction.Have a "can do" attitude and be a team player.Communicate clearly and effectively via in-person, telephone, and in writing.Be able to promote SOPREMA as a single source building envelope solutions provider.Must have an understanding and knowledge of the company goals and growth objectives. Know how to get things done through formal and informal channels.Become a technical resource.Can deal with conflict, ambiguity and information in an appropriate and positive manner.May require additional functions as assigned by the direct supervisor.Minimum Qualifications:5 years sales experience in the buildings material industry; preferably with a manufacturer, distributor, or as an independent sales agent.Bachelor's degree preferred, but will foregoe with the proper work experience.Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience in using AutoCAD Knowledge of commercial building constructionWorking Conditions and/or Physical Demands:This position will mostly be working in an office environment, but may require some travel to construction sites.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Driving long distances (must have a valid drivers license)Visit job sites and being compliant with all safety procedures.Climbing and descending stairs, ladders, and scaffolding and descending into trenches and tunnels.During travel, expect after-hours dinner meetings as required to accomplish their duties.Ancitipate some irregular hours depending on the time of year.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Reports to the Technical Manager - Building Envelope Waterproofing.
