Overview: A NYC Mayoral Campaign seeks an innovative, creative, dynamic, and experienced Director to lead our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, a passion for our vision for New York City, the ability to foster relationships with stakeholders, and the ability to raise money. This role requires a strategic leader who can navigate complex challenges, grow a campaign, and serve as a thought partner with the candidate.The Campaign Director will oversee all aspects of the campaign, working closely with the candidate to develop and implement the overall campaign strategy. This individual will manage campaign operations, emphasizing fundraising, coordinating with the campaign's communication, field, finance, and digital teams, and ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day activities. The Campaign Director will serve as the chief liaison between the candidate, staff, volunteers, and key stakeholders to ensure the campaign's message and goals are effectively communicated to voters.About the CandidateThe candidate is committed to a grassroots movement that brings communities together and promotes anti-corruption and meaningful change outside of the two major parties. The candidate is policy-driven and seeks to build a campaign coalition of everyday New Yorkers who want (and deserve) better from city government. A back-to-the-basics campaign: better schools, better public transportation, better healthcare, better jobs. The candidate has political experience and is eager for an energetic, passionate, empathetic, fresh, creative, and innovative grassroots campaign. The candidate is in their early 30s, gay, and an educator. A note from the candidate: While experience matters, I am seeking someone who has the attributes I want my campaign to have too: energy, passion, empathy, creativity, and innovation. My campaign will be fresh and creative. I will always prioritize people willing to roll up their sleeves and get the campaign across the finish line over years of experience on paper.Qualifications:Proven experience in leading or managing political campaigns (local, state, or national level) (Required). Proven experience in fundraising and donor relations (Required).Deep understanding of social media with emphasis on TikTok (Required). Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.Excellent strategic planning skills.Excellent organizational skills.Knowledge of campaign finance, election laws, and compliance regulations.Exceptional communication and public speaking abilities.Familiarity with voter data and analytics platforms (e.g., VAN, NGP).Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.Strong commitment to the candidate's platform and values.Flexibility to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the campaign.Preferred Qualifications:Established relationships within the political community and knowledge of key stakeholders.A background in policy analysis, community organizing, or government relations (Strong preference). Key Responsibilities:Campaign Strategy and Planning:Develop, refine, and implement the overall campaign strategy in collaboration with the candidate and senior leadership.Establish clear goals, timelines, and benchmarks to measure campaign progress.Lead the creation of a detailed campaign plan, including messaging, outreach, voter engagement, and media strategies.Team Leadership and Coordination:Manage and lead campaign staff, including field organizers, communications staff, finance, digital strategists, and volunteers.Ensure cross-team coordination and maintain open lines of communication across departments.Provide training and support for staff and volunteers to meet campaign goals.Resolve internal team challenges and ensure staff are motivated and working effectively toward campaign objectives.Fundraising and Finance Oversight:Co-develop and implement fundraising strategies.Oversee the campaign budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and adherence to financial regulations.Ensure that fundraising efforts are aligned with the campaign's goals and that the team is meeting key financial targets.Voter Outreach and Field Operations:Oversee all voter outreach efforts, including canvassing, phone banking, and community engagement.Develop strategies to reach target voter demographics, with a focus on building a diverse and engaged base of supporters.Monitor and adjust field operations to ensure efficient and impactful outreach in key areas.Communications and Public Relations:Oversee the campaign's communication strategy, including media relations, press releases, speeches, and social media messaging.Ensure that campaign messaging remains consistent, compelling, and aligned with the candidate's vision.Handle crisis communication and guide rapid response efforts when necessary.Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:Build and maintain relationships with key political and community leaders, donors, organizations, and other stakeholders.Serve as the primary point of contact for external partnerships and coalitions that support the campaign's goals.Represent the campaign at public events, debates, and other key appearances alongside the candidate.Data and Analytics:Use data analytics and polling results to refine campaign strategies and target outreach efforts effectively.Track voter engagement, identify trends, and adjust campaign tactics based on data insights.Compliance and Legal Oversight:Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal election laws, including campaign finance regulations.Oversee legal reporting and ensure all required filings are completed accurately and on time.
