Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job DescriptionSUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Working with Medical and Nursing Administration and Education at each facility, and the simulation center staff, the Associate Director of Nursing will guide the creation, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the maternal mortality and morbidity simulation-based program. Tasks will include but are not limited to:Overseeing the administration of simulation/course delivery including CME & CEU where appropriatePreparing the simulation environment and overseeing the delivery of scenariosDeveloping scenarios to support learning objectivesAssisting other Simulation Educators in delivery of scenariosOperating simulation equipment including "on the fly" changes to support learners needsAssist with the revision of courses and instructional materials based on evaluation resultsTeaching simulation courses and facilitate debriefing sessionslnstall, test, operate, troubleshoot and repair, or coordinate repair of, simulators and other equipment used for simulation instructional programs.Provide technical assistance with delivery of simulation-based instructional programs, including (as needed): operating simulators and/or audio-visual, computer and telecommunication equipment during simulations; editing and storing digital records of simulation sessions and retrieving them for debriefing sessions; helping with room and equipment set-ups and clean-ups before and after teaching sessions.Facilitate technology aspects of teleconference/distance learning sessions.Help to manage equipment storage and maintain accurate records of equipment and supplies inventory and equipment maintenance and repairs.Train Simulation faculty and staff on operational and technical aspects of simulationTrain, in collaboration with the Simulation Center, staff in feedback and debriefing skillsAssist with other special projects or initiatives as needed with specific emphasis on Women's Health Services.Minimum QualificationsLicensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State, plus (2) or (3) below.A Masters Degree in Nursing Administration, Education or an equivalent field and a minimum of six years of satisfactory nursing experience, of which four years shall have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity; or,A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and seven years of satisfactory nursing experience, five years of which shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity; or,A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
