Today In Orbit is developing the next-generation of autonomous spacecraft for on-orbit operations and cargo transportation from space to Earth.Electrical Engineer:In Orbit is looking for an engineer eager to join a fast-paced team developing cutting-edge space vehicles and robotics to enable space-based automation, docking, manufacturing, and re-entry for a new orbital economy.As an Electrical Engineer at In Orbit you will bring the vehicles to life. You will work throughout the product lifecycle of various electrical systems, bringing a big picture mindset alongside an attention to detail.Responsibilities:Design, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain electrical systems for test equipment and space vehiclesWork closely with other subsystem engineers on hardware and software integrationBe the point of contact for suppliers of electrical components and hardwareServe as a responsible engineer of electrical systems, leading and supporting the design, development, manufacture test, day-of-launch activities, and on-orbit operationsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree-level knowledge in engineering or physicsExperience with the full life cycle for embedded systems, printed circuit boards, and electronicsHands-on experience developing with off-the-shelf and/or custom electronicsExperience in a programming language such as C, C++, and PythonHands-on experience designing and implementing printed circuit boardsComfortable working with microcontrollers and serial communication protocolsFamiliarity with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.Able to simultaneously manage multiple projectsAble to independently identify and resolve complex problemsPreferred Experience and Skills:Advanced degree in a relevant field2+ years of experience working with space systemsKnowledge of high-voltage operations and safety considerationsHands-on experience designing and implementing FPGAs and microprocessors with power electronics and communication networksExperience with Eagle, Altium Designer or other PCB design tools as well as SPICE-based simulatorsAdditional Requirements:Willing to work extended hours as neededAble to stand for extended periods of timeITAR Requirements:To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
