Search Partnership:Director of Human Resources - Employee & Labor Relations (People Relations)Location: Los Angeles, CA. On-site, in office.Our Client Partner: Our client is a notable organization with a complex structure of business units with a large union and non-union employee population. Key areas of contribution include but are not limited to active collaboration with stakeholders and partners to ensure that labor relations and employee relations resolutions are achieved, provide strategies, HR policies, and optimize HR operations that are seamlessly integrated to both immediate needs and long-term objectives.Role Overview: The of Director is responsible for revolutionizing the companies approach to labor relations, employee relations, and HR processes. This strategic role involves enhancing the technical and functional aspects of HR practices, optimizing policies, and refining workplace processes to align with modern labor and employee standards, compliance management, and organizational goals.Impact Snapshot: This position brings innovative solutions to traditional labor relations/employee relations challenges, implementing cutting-edge tools and methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness, resolution, compliance, risk management, and team mentorship.Core Responsibilities:Redefine labor and employee relations management strategies by incorporating technologies that streamline processes and improve data-driven decision-making.Develop and enforce optimized HR policies that meet legal standards and reflect organizational values, ensuring they are clearly communicated and effectively implemented.Lead a comprehensive review and redesign of existing HR procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance across all departments.Establish a mentorship program to nurture leadership skills within the HR team, focusing on continuous professional development and empowerment.Facilitate the training of management and staff on new systems and policies, ensuring smooth transitions and widespread adoption.Thoroughly analyze HR metrics to identify trends, anticipate potential issues, and recommend proactive strategies for improvement.Act as a key advisor and strategist in negotiations with labor unions, ensuring alignment with optimized labor practices and organizational goals.Implement a feedback loop with employees at all levels to gather insights on HR processes, using this information to drive further innovations.Manage HR operations daily with a generalist focus.Be a highly effective liaison and business partner to senior leadership.Other duties as needed to required to meet the needs of the business.What You'll Bring:Proven track record in transforming HR functions through policy, team management, technology and innovative practices.In-depth knowledge of labor and employee relations combined with a strong acumen in HR systems and process optimization for business efficiency .Exceptional ability to mentor and develop HR professionals, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement, decrement, and accuracy.Strategic mindset with the capability to anticipate organizational needs, and respond with agility to changes in labor or employment laws and adapt policies accordingly.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the capacity to influence both internal stakeholders and external partners.Heavy expertise working with a diverse workforce and understanding the unique needs of diverse communities related to culture, gender expression, sexual orientation, and other types of diversity.(This JD is truncated for talent attraction and is a representation of the core scope of role.
