Fiber Technician

Must-Haves:Experience: 3-5 years of experience in construction inspection, particularly in fiber optic or telecommunications projects.Technical Skills: Familiarity with fiber optic technology, FlexNap, OSP construction methods, and construction management software such as IQGEO, Fulcrum, GIS, Google Earth KMZ/KML, Sharepoint, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).Pluses:Education: A degree in engineering, construction management, telecommunications, OSP, or related field experience.Certifications: Relevant certifications (OSHA, Fiber, Construction).Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Our client is looking for someone to perform regular inspections of aerial and underground construction sites in Northeast PA, ensuring compliance with PENNDOT specifications, NESC codes, PPL standards, and OSHA safety regulations. The role involves maintaining detailed records of fiber construction activities, such as daily production logs, photographs, and inspection checklists. Responsibilities also include monitoring materials and workmanship to meet project specifications, coordinating with contractors and utilities (Verizon, PPL, UGI), and managing project timelines. Additionally, fiber testing with OTDR will be conducted to verify network performance. The individual must ensure regulatory compliance and resolve issues to prevent delays, while overseeing on-site safety protocols.
