NextGen Federal Systems, LLC (NextGen) is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join a technical team supporting a Department of Defense customer. The Test Automation Engineer will work in collaboration with systems development teams to create automated testing for large mission critical applications.The test engineer will participate in test case creation, test automation, and test result evaluation. They will work closely with the development teams to automate test cases, and track/report test results. They will work with the DevOps team to integrate automated testing into the application's pipeline builds.LocationHybrid Position, Aberdeen, MDResponsibilitiesCollaborate with development, engineering, and system architects to create test strategies, test scenarios, and test plansBuild automated tests for mission critical DOD applicationsIntegrate automated tests into Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines to enable continuous testing and deliveryMonitor and analyze test results to increase system quality and ensure system deployment stabilityQualifications3+ years of experience as a test engineer with 2+ years of test automation experienceExperience creating test scripts and drafting test documentation (e.g. test plans and test reports)Experience assembling test metrics, standards, and defect briefing reportsEffective oral and written communication skills. Able to present findings and defects found during testing to government stakeholders, and work with development teams on system improvementsAutomated system test development experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, and KatalonA BA or BS degree is required.
