This role focuses on supporting our sales team by engaging clients, creating tailored proposals, and enhancing our client service to ensure success in our sales endeavors and the company's mission of promoting sustainable building practices for clients. Job Title: Sales Manager at a green building consulting firm.Required Skills and Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.• Proven experience in sales, preferably within the green building, architecture, or engineering sectors, but could also be in technology, building materials, solar, construction, building operations, or building maintenance. • Understanding of green building fundamentals, construction, or LEED certification processes.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and persuasive manner.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Skills and qualifications · LEED GA/AP or similar sustainability accreditations· Sales strategy · Proposal writing· Ability to read construction documents. Additional Details:• Hybrid work opportunity with a flexible schedule.• Requirement to live in the LA Metropolitan area and attend the west side office twice weekly for the initial three months, then once weekly or as required to collaborate with the sales team.• Must be able to travel to the Los Angeles office for an entire week (3 times a year) during predetermined dates for team gatherings.Responsibilities:Sales Support and Coordination:• Support the sales team by managing sales action items, keeping them on schedule, and creating sales documents and proposals. • Assist the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the green building sector.• Prepare presentations and proposals for the sales team to use at client meetings to communicate the value and benefits of LEED certification and sustainability consulting services. • Analyze bid specifications with precision and insight to ensure proposals meet client needs, and respond to RFP requests, guiding them from inception to closure.• Assist sales by participating in client-facing meetings and calls to gather requirements, and deliver technical presentations, demos, and assessments to help understand and fulfill client project needs.• Connect with current clients and reach out with regular touch points regarding current and future project opportunities. Data Management and Reporting: • Maintain comprehensive records of client interactions, project details, and sales activities in the CRM system.• Generate reports on sales metrics, market trends, and other relevant data to support sales strategies. • Analyze sales data and project outcomes to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential new markets or services.• Support the sales team with project closeout tasks, including tracking sustainability metrics and sharing case studies with clients.
