E-J has a 125-year reputation for unparalleled integrity, quality, and service in the electrical field.Position Description:E-J is seeking a motivated and skilled certified public accountant to join our Finance/Accounting team as a Treasury and Tax Manager. The individual will play a pivotal role in managing and analyzing the increasing volume and complexity of our cash transactions, tax filings, and departmental strategic planning. This role is essential as we continue to experience significant growth and strive for increased efficiency and accuracy in our financial operations.Key Responsibilities:Cash ManagementMonitor daily cash positions and forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity.Optimize the use of cash by managing the timing of cash inflows and outflows.Manage short-term borrowing needs and ensure the efficient use of credit lines.Investment ManagementDevelop and implement investment strategies to maximize returns on surplus funds.Monitor and manage the organization's investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.Analyze and recommend investment opportunities.Financial Planning & AnalysisPrepare and analyze cash flow forecasts, budgeting, and financial modeling.Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.Support strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and recommendations.Banking RelationshipsManage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.Ensure efficient and cost-effective banking services for the organization.Compliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.Maintain accurate records of all treasury transactions and activities.Tax ComplianceEnsure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, including income, payroll, property, and sales taxes.Review and ensure the accuracy of tax filings prepared by internal teams or external advisors.Manage tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities.Tax ReportingPrepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual tax reports.Ensure the accuracy of deferred tax calculations and related accounting entries.Risk ManagementIdentify and mitigate tax risks by ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.Develop and maintain internal controls related to tax processes.Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary adjustments to minimize risk.Advisory & SupportWork with external tax advisors and consultants to ensure the company's tax strategies are aligned with its business goals.Support the CFO and senior management in making informed tax-related decisions.Process ImprovementContinuously review and improve tax processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.Implement tax software and tools to streamline tax compliance and reporting functions.Develop and maintain documentation of tax processes and procedures.Requirements:EducationA bachelor's degree in finance or accounting Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA or a master's in finance or accounting). CertificationsChartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are highly regarded. ExperienceRelevant work experience, typically 2-5 years is considered favorably. Big 4 Auditing background considered favorably. Technical SkillsIn-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.Experience in managing tax audits and working with tax authorities.Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Office), and financial modeling software. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements. Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
