Operations Field Engineer

Our client, a leader in wireless network operations, has an excellent opportunity for an Operations Field Engineer role to work on a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. Work will be hybrid on-site/remote schedule in Salinas, CA. The Operations Field Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks in various environments. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.This position is a contract opportunity, offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, plus 401(k), and weekly payment.Responsibilities of the Operations Field Engineer:Install, maintain, and repair various telecommunications equipment, including, but not limited to, fiber optic cables, copper cables, switches, routers, and modems.Conduct site surveys to assess network and construction requirements.Troubleshoot and resolve network problems, including service interruptions and equipment failures.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning equipment, checking connections, and updating software.Assist in the installation and configuration of new network equipment.Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while working in the field.Provide technical support to customers and end-users.Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.Majority of time spent at home or in Salinas, CA (travel between Salinas and Monterey)Requirements of the Operations Field Engineer:Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a telecommunications field technician.Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications equipment and networks.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to work proficiently with minimal direction.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Possess basic hand tools, including, but not limited to, screw drivers, nut drivers, wire cutters/strippers, multi-meter, etc...Valid driver's license.Preferred Skills:Bachelor's degree or advanced degreeExperience with Microwave hardware, assembly, installation, and decommissioning.Basic theoretical knowledge of RF principles. General knowledge of telecommunications CRM / Databases.Knowledge of various telecommunications protocols (e.g., TCP/IP).Industry telecommunications certifications preferred.Experience implementing wireless networks.Familiarity with industry-specific software applications.Job ID: JN-112024-91506
