Job DescriptionGas and Construction InspectorSalary: Up to $40/hr DOEIndustry: Defense/EngineeringLocation: Spring Valley, NY 10977Schedule: M-F 8AM-5PMEmployment Type: Contract-to-hireRequirements:HS Diploma with 3-5 years of experience and training in excavation, road, or utility construction with an emphasis on electric installations, plastic pipe installation, welding, and steel pipefitting. Inspectors must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and a working knowledge of the utility industry. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures. They must possess the ability to keep accurate and detailed field records including daily job reports, material usage and locations and field test records. Be knowledgeable in the requirements of OSHANGA trainings requiredMust be a US Citizen or Perm Resident Responsibilities:Gas Inspectors will be required to oversee construction projects on Gas Transmission and/or Distribution pipelines, gate stations, district regulator stations and downgrades. Inspector may be required to oversee multiple construction projects at varying stages at one time (from designing, including cost estimating to completed final folder close out). Inspector must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and a working knowledge of the utility industry. An inspector will be required to inspect work performed by construction contractors and supervised by Company representatives assuring adherence to company specifications, proper work methods and appropriate use of facilities and equipment. Additional duties may be assigned.
