Title: HVAC TechnicianLocation: Indian Head, Maryland (client will offer relo reimbursement)Salary: $65,000 - $110,000Clearance: Secret Cleared OR clearable and willing to obtain secret (program can hold up to TS)Day to Day:Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling unitsDiagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systemsPreventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to a variety of commercial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, water source heat pumps, cooling towers, package rooftops, split systems, controls, pumps, VAVsSupport the full life cycle of small-scale projects from initial concept design through project completionPerform routine maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, digital controls, and other mechanical systemsTroubleshoot and diagnose problems with facilities and equipment and repair or replace defective parts as neededRespond to emergency maintenance requestsConduct site visits to document existing facility conditions and develop new requirementsPrepare technical memoranda/reports to document facility conditions and project statusEnsure that all facilities are in compliance with applicable codes and regulationsMaintain accurate records related to maintenance activities and administrative tasks, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment inventory, and time sheetsMust Haves:Minimum of 5 years of experience without a license or certification OR 2 years of experience if licensed/certified High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferredEnvironmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant Reclamation and Recovery Certification Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprintsStrong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systemsBe familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniquesExperience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) required Familiarity with state and local building codes, OSHA regulations, and NFPA standards is a plusStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsMust currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearanceWork may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
