Construction Litigation Attorney - Focused on Design Professional RepresentationSince 1979, our client has been one of California's preeminent law firms representing architects, engineers, and other design professionals. Their practice is primarily litigation and largely on the defense side, but also includes plaintiffs' cases plus contract negotiations and general business counseling for the A/E (architect and engineer) community. Clients include boutique architecture studios and national design firms, plus a range of contractors and property owners. The Firm's partners regularly lecture and present for the American Institute of Architects, and they represent clients involved in a wide variety of projects from high-end custom residences and retail to healthcare and major public works and transportation hubs. They pride themselves on having a sophisticated practice where our cases are unique with intriguing problems that demand novel and detailed solutions. This is not your run of the mill construction litigation firm. Associates will have the opportunity to work closely with partners and clients through all levels of the litigation process, from the initial case intake and evaluation through trial (and, occasionally, post-trial proceedings). Every associate is expected to prepare a case evaluation for each file they handle which includes a realistic plan of action. Associates are also expected to handlepleadings and discovery as necessary to follow through on that plan. Other responsibilities will depend on experience level, but our associates will not be stuck doing document review for days on end.
