Operating Engineer - Boilers & Chillers

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Operating Engineer to handle the operation and maintenance of essential equipment at the central utility plant. This role requires a NILUPE or a City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineer License, as well as expertise in chiller and boiler systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the plant equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and safely.Responsibilities:Operate, monitor, and maintain chiller and boiler systems to ensure uninterrupted delivery of chilled and hot water.Perform regular inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of powerhouse equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, and control systems.Maintain compliance with safety standards and local regulations while working with high-pressure systems and other essential powerhouse equipment.Record and analyze operational data, such as pressures, temperatures, and flow rates, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal system performance.Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.Diagnose equipment malfunctions and carry out repairs or coordinate replacements as required.Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is operating within specifications and perform scheduled maintenance tasks.Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent5+ years of relevant experience in a central utility plant/powerhouseValid NILUPE (National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers) or City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineer LicenseHands-on experience with boilers and chillersStrong knowledge of chilled water and hot water system operations, including preventive maintenance practicesPLC experience is a plusBenefits Include:Comprehensive benefits package401(k)PTO & Holiday PayPlus More!Apply today for immediate consideration!
