SQL DeveloperLocation - Torrance, CA (Hybrid of onsite 2 to 3 days per week depending on the work assignment)Contract Duration - December 2024 - March 31, 2026Overtime - Overtime will vary by production support activitiesWe are looking for a strong SQL Developer who has a background in the financial services sector. Ideally, this Developer will have a background supporting lending systems. Any automotive lending industry experience would be a huge plus (Customer Service, Payment Processing, Taxes, End of Term and Extension processes, Collections, Delinquency Tracking, Repossession, Charge Off, Recovery, Bankruptcy, and Accounting). This developer will be working within a hybrid Agile and Waterfall environment. As a Senior SQL Developer, this person will provide Application Development and Production Support for multiple large projects. Duties will include:Researching and resolving production issues, troubleshooting of Mid-Tier MS SQLServer online and batch issuesEvaluating the daily and monthly batch process to improve performance and shorten the critical path windowPerforming Impact Analysis across multiple platforms and applicationsDelivering complete documentation for estimates, design, and developmentProviding on-call for production support during off-office hours (night and weekend)Tasks will involve the following:Coding and performing Unit and Integration Testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirementCoding, testing, and debugging of new software or making enhancements to existing softwareWriting programs according to specifications from higher level staff or business analystsDeveloping technical documentationResolving promptly problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application componentsCollaborating with technical staff to learn and understand software problemsGenerating a variety of complex and periodic reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniquesProviding general system users and management with system analysis and feedbackInfluencing system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancementsMentoring and coaching with less experienced staffMaximizing the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing, and auditing new software programsAnalysing and resolving computer-related problems by coordinating with in-house personnel to diagnose and fix operational difficulties, as well as consulting, advising, and training on specialized features and functionsFollowing established configuration/change control processesRequired Skills and Expertise:· Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalentBusiness knowledge of Financial Services with an understanding of Financial Services, Automotive Lending, Customer Service, Payment Processing, Taxes, End of Term and Extension processes, Collections, Delinquency Tracking, Repossession, Charge Off, Recovery, Bankruptcy, and Accounting.Must have strong experience using SQL technologies (stored procedure, views, DTS package, etc.)8+ years of strong SQL Development experienceStrong production support experience.Must have SQL batch experience.8+ years of experience in the design, development and implementation of SQL Server databases creating and maintaining T-SQL Procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.Needs to have an excellent understanding on T-SQL programming with Microsoft SQL ServerMust have experience in both SSIS and SSRS· Experience with SQL Server Analysis ServicesExperience with modern relational databases is preferredMust have 3 years of experience working with ETL/ELT processes· Familiarity with test practices and deliverables for unit testing· Experience in working in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.Required Soft Skills:· Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills· Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment· Ability to successfully execute multiple complex tasks simultaneously.· Ability to work as a team member as well as independently and solve problems.· Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills· Excellent organizational and time management skills.· Self-starter with the ability to identify what tasks need to be prioritized based on the impact(s) on the environment and teamDesired Technical Skills and Expertise:Experience in Automotive Finance industry preferredUnderstanding of financial services automotive lendingKnowledge of Informatica is a plus.
