Job Responsibilities:Oversee the credentialing processes for medical and health staff, ensuring compliance with the hospital's Medical Staff Bylaws, Credentialing Policies, and relevant federal and state regulations.Provide administrative support to Credentials, General Staff, and various Medical Staff committees and departments as needed.Manage requests for temporary privileges, ensuring all follow-up actions align with established policies and procedures.Handle requests for additional privileges and monitor related follow-up activities according to policies and procedures.Process requests for one-time privileges for visiting physicians and student observers.Coordinate the verification of professional liability coverage, medical licenses, board certifications, and required certifications (BLS, ACLS, ATLS, NRP, DEA).Collect updated PPD results and conduct annual evaluations for AHPs.Assist in managing the annual dues process.Support credentialing and database management efforts.Provide assistance to customers in the absence of the Credentialing Assistant or Administrative Assistant.Aid in preparations for Joint Commission accreditation as needed.Help coordinate the annual on-call schedule and facilitate the election of Department Directors (every two years).Assist in preparing and distributing new committee rosters (every two years) and the yearly master calendar.Verify medical staff membership and clinical privileges of providers from other healthcare organizations.Support the organization of medical staff events and perform other assigned duties.Required Skills & Experience:5+ years of experience in a healthcare environment focused on credentialing, privileging, and medical staff services.Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills are essential.Ability to manage multiple tasks, with a keen attention to detail and excellent interpersonal abilities.Capable of working independently and making sound decisions related to credentialing and privileging, as well as other medical staff services.Self-motivated with a proven ability to work effectively in a team setting, exemplifying high standards in teamwork, professionalism, reliability, and commitment to quality improvement.Proficient in database management and skilled in Microsoft Office and Windows applications.Familiarity with Joint Commission and other healthcare regulatory bodies is preferred.
