Our law clerks work closely with our attorneys through every stage of our litigated cases. We offer true substantive experience by way of legal research, pleading and discovery drafting, and law and motion practice. We are seeking excellent writers, careful researchers, and those eager to learn the ins and outs of civil litigation. Law Clerk 1L, 2L and 3L are distinguished by level of substantive work given to the employee. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: • Drafting demand letters, pleadings, discovery, and motions • Conducting legal research • Reviewing document productions • Assisting with other tasks regarding hearings on motions, trials, etc• Other duties as assigned Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: •Completed undergrad degree, preferrable in political science, etc •Current law student for an accredited law schoolSkills and Abilities:• Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision• Ability to organize workload and meet deadlines • Ability to ask informed questions • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group meetings • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures• Ability to be a supportive and engaged team member • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves • Effective time management • Self-sufficient • Detail-Oriented • High levels of teachability, proven time management, and organization • Strong writing and research skills • Willingness to learn about litigation, pleadings, and more legal-related responsibilities • Excellent analytical and academic credentials • Technologically adept; Excellent communication skills including writing and typing • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, very basic Excel, etc.) This list is a summary and not inclusive of all essential duties.
