SUMMARY: The STEM/ Cyber Lab Coordinator performs a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks in overseeing the successful implementation of the STEM curriculum, programming, and instructional practices throughout the SEED School of Maryland. The employee is responsible for providing leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating STEM programming to promote student learning and teacher effectiveness for the benefit of the system's total educational program. The Coordinator is responsible for providing access to quality STEM education is essential for preparing Title 1 students in the world of work.QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in computer science, with familiarity with writing and analyzing code, as well as excellent communication skills. They will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team and should be able to identify areas of improvement and suggest solutions.? The minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.? Masters Degree preferred? A valid Maryland Teacher's Certificate in Technology (6-12)? Ability to pass a background check? Admin 1 certification preferred? 2 years of experience teaching Title 1 students? 2 years of leadership experience with proven results preferredESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:? Provide targeted support and resources to meet the needs of Title 1 students including providing extra tutoring for technology classes and integrating hands-on STEM activities in classrooms.? Provide access to specialized technology resources to help students succeed in STEM and cyber-related subjects for select Title 1 students.? Collaborate with local businesses and industry partners to provide Title 1 students with real-world learning experiences, internships, and mentorship opportunities, ultimately increasing their chances of success in the workforce.? Oversees the integration of STEM programs and ensuring that they align with educational standards and best practices and they are servicing Title 1 students.? Collect and analyze data on student performance and program effectiveness to inform decision-making and ensure that Title 1 dollars are being used efficiently and effectively to support student learning and achievement in STEM and cyber-related fields.? Provides guidance and leadership in the development of STEM conferences, district Science/STEM Fair, workshops, research and publications projects, consultation, and support for STEM meetings and projects; provides personal leadership to most important initiatives.? Facilitates and manages the comprehensive STEM strategy that includes vendor supplier development.? Develop an annual STEM report for Title 1, the Board of Education, the Head of School, and the ILT team.? Assist in developing plans for the sustainable enhancement and expansion of existing programs.? Assist in developing a sustainable plan for expanding STEM Success Support to non-mathematics STEM areas, including science and learning communities.? Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate by the Director of Academics and the Head of School.REPORTS TO:? Head of School or Director of AcademicsSalary Range:? 12- month position: $85,000- $90,000 (negotiable based on experience)
