HSAGP(Hyundai-SK America Green power) Energy LLC. is Hyundai Motor Group and SK On' s joint venture company to produce batteries for electric vehicle batteries. The joint venture plans to invest $5 billion to build an EV battery cell plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group and SK On will each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. The new plant created by the two companies is expected to start manufacturing battery cells in the first half of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh, enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year. The future Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group's existing and planned U.S. facilities. It's primary jobs are to assess the status of occupational health and safety; establish, implement, and develop occupational health and safety management programs and policies based on laws, regulations, and company's standards. This position needs to interact with a wide range of personnel and conduct safety audits, inspections to identify issues related to health/safety and to investigate the root causes and report it. Safety manager requires some on-call support.Key Ares of ResponsibilityOccupational Health/Safety Management SystemSupport adoption and implementation of occupational health/safety laws, regulations, and company's standard at the manufacturing and service site.Check the occupational health/safety laws and establish and/or revise procedure manualsDevelop annual facility H&S goals and objectives through data deep dive analysis and auditing resultsDrive the development of specific safety and health standards including but not limited to: injury/ illness/ Near miss investigations, energy control & power lockout, hazard communications/global harmonized system (with head office), high risk maintenance tasks (risk assessment and reduction) , and process safety managementSupport implementation of the maintenance tracking system as it pertains to the safety management system, develop a system/ process for coordinating, tracking and auditing work permits, MSDS (material safety data sheets) management, emergency response plan (ERT and Drill) PPE management (purchasing and provision)Manage clinic and medical teamCommunicationsLiaise effectively with statutory authorities, OSHA and OHS representatives as needed, and also with the operations leadership, medical and plant floorsAudit Preparations & ActionPrepare and maintain required documents for audit by ISO (45001), government or company's head officeSafety TrainingSupport manufacturing safety trainingProvide orientation and job-specific safety training if requiredRequirementsEducationBachelor of Science in Occupational Safety Management, Occupational Safety Engineering, or other related field of studyExperience14+ years of relevant experience in high volume manufacturing9-12 years of experience leading cross function teams and managing processesCertifications/LicenseAssociate Safety Professional (preferred)Certified Safety ProfessionalCertifies Industrial HygienistOccupational Health and Safety TechnologiesSkillsAdvance proficiency in Microsoft OfficeProficiency with AutoCAD or similar program (preferred)
