Job descriptionPOSITION TITLE: Day Treatment TherapistADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR: Director of School-Based Services and Programs with Bardstown City Schools and Nelson County SchoolsPOSITION SUMMARY: The Day Treatment therapist facilitates frequent and intensive daily group therapy as well as develops and monitors treatment for all clients assigned to their caseload. Manages caseload through completion of required and timely documentation including treatment notes, treatment plans, behavior modification/s, and transition/discharge planning. May act as interim therapist for school-based programs for others who take LOA, as needed.EXPERIENCE: 1+ year experience completing comprehensive psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention experience. Experience with completing prior authorizations for community-based diversion services. Therapeutic experience working with individuals and families who experience various mental, behavioral, social and emotional, and substance abuse conditions. Have working knowledge of behavioral health treatment and management of dual diagnosis clients. Have working experience in school-based settings and/or facilitating group therapy with at-risk youth.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Certified or Licensed Therapist within the state of Kentucky. Preferably close to meeting hours/requirements for licensure.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.Provide group therapy services daily (Monday through Friday) for up to 3 hours. Group therapy times may be extended on non-school days.Complete Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training to include verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques as well as restraint training to ensure the safety of clients within the program.Responsible for responding to referrals regarding enrollment into day treatment Conduct and complete Comprehensive Psychosocial Assessments obtaining historical and clinical information from clients, family/guardians, referral sources, and/or other mental health and medical professional working with the client.Complete Primary Care Physician letter and CASII for all clients entering services, and any other paperwork/documentation that is required for program.Make appropriate referrals to Therapeutic Case Management and/or Comprehensive Community Support Services.Communicate with client and families/guardians regarding enrollment into program and ensure client and families/guardians understand program dynamics and procedures.Develop individual treatment plans with goals based upon the findings of the Comprehensive Psychosocial Assessment.Communicate with direct supervisor and School Services Coordinator regarding addition of new client/s to caseload.Facilitate treatment team mtgs with client and families/guardians and treatment team members. In addition, during intake appt. schedule initial treatment plan mtg. with client, family/guardian/s, and treatment team members.Collaborate with FRYSCs and school-counselors to maximize contacts and provided services for clients, a needed.Complete and maintain prior-authorizations for client/s in program.Maintains current documentation and records on each client in accordance with agency policies and state regulations.Maintains communication and collaboration with families/guardians, home school, case managers, school-based therapists, and others regarding client's treatment.Attend monthly staff meetings, and monthly staffing (for caseload) on clients to ensure information toward prior authorizations and treatment plans is updated and accurate.Develop transition plan and discharge for assigned caseload, working with multi-disciplinary treatment team to ensure appropriate transition back to home school.Utilize evidenced based curriculums for group therapy services including S.E.L.F curriculum, social and emotional curriculums, and independent living skills curriculums.Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.Participate in on-call agency rotation.Complete all required agency trainings as assigned.Performs all other duties as assigned by Director of School-Based Services and Programs.Loan Reimbursement:Astra is an approved site of the National Health Service Corps loan reimbursement program for licensed clinicians. Loan reimbursement distribution can be from $50,000 to $100,000 with NHSC contract for 2 to 3 years of service.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:Day shiftWork Location: In person
