ACE is adding experienced, motivated and problem-solving Superintendents to join our construction teams delivering a complex wastewater construction projects in Western New York.This position requires great initiative, team work, as well as superb communication skills and problem solving. This is an ideal position for someone who has substantial experience in heavy construction, particularly in the wastewater industry and is interested in taking their career to the next level.You will lead the installation of complex mechanical projects on site at water and wastewater facilities while also solving complex issues that arise with these types of projects. In addition, you will master ACE core responsibilities and assist other internal departments, producing great results that will move your career and ACE forward!Main ResponsibilitiesProvide field supervision for the day-to-day operation associated with assigned construction projectsManage field crews consisting of Supervisor, Crew Leaders, Craft Workers, and LaborersManage projects valued from $3M up to $20M in contract valueDemonstrate clear understanding and comply with all corporate policies and procedures to achieve company goals and support the ACE visionSpecific Duties:PreconstructionAssist in developing construction scheduleDevelop overall plan to construct projectDevelop site mobilization planKnow and understand all subcontractor agreementsAttend pre-construction and progress meetingsMobilize ACE project officeConstructionAssemble initial field crew for constructionAdjust crew sizes as neededSelect, expedite and manage project equipmentReview labor cost distribution and monitor daily unit costs of major cost categoriesPrepare daily timesheetsReview weekly labor productivity reports for accuracy of labor distributionSupervise incidental material purchasing and oversee material delivery and inventoryProvide safe work environmentComply with OSHA regulationsEnforce ACE safety proceduresMaintain a clean job siteMaintain and inspect operated equipmentInspect subcontractor's equipment for safetyConduct weekly safety meetings and keep written documentationMaintain the project schedule and participate with the Project Manager in the preparation and updating of project scheduleInform the Project Manager when all material and equipment will be required to be deliveredAdvise Project Manager of actual or potential work stoppagesUtilize short term scheduling for supervisor and subcontractor use in their daily planningMaintain good working relationships with Owners, Engineers, Consultants and SubcontractorsCoordinate all aspects of subcontractor's field activity. Ensure subcontractors are in good standing with all ACE policies.Project CloseoutPerform testing and startup of all systemsObtain final inspections and certificates and ensure that subcontractors have obtained proper certificates and final inspections for their work itemsPrepare a completion list and perform listed items prior to punch list inspectionComplete punch listDemobilize site facilitiesExperience10 or more years of Industrial Construction project experience3 or more years of hands-on construction Superintendent or General Supervisor experience3 or more years of water / wastewater project experienceSkillsBasic knowledge of Windows computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Must be customer service oriented and be flexible to adapt to the changing needsAbility to handle multiple tasks and be responsiveMust have effective communication skillsMeet ACEOver the last 20 years, we have steadily grown and we are consistently ranked a Top 200 Environmental Contractor by Engineering & News Record (ENR).
