Senior EngineerClassificationExemptJob LevelMid to Senior Level ContributorReports toEngineering ManagerAbout the positionThis opportunity will provide technical expertise to support existing and new VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) projects. The engineer will be tasked with design, sustaining, improving, and manufacturing support. The candidate will work in collaboration on various teams depending on project scope.This position is a hands-on engineering position with time spent in both the office and manufacturing floors. The design, sustaining and manufacturing support activities include but are not limited to project management and commissioning, new product development, design optimization, cost saving initiatives, functional design and manufacturability improvements. This position will be based out of the 260 Creekside Buffalo, New York. THIS IS A FULLY ONSITE ROLE.Essential Functions:Design and develop innovative solutions to meet engineering and marketing requirements. Participate on design teams for new VPSA product development.Interface with customers to troubleshoot and determine corrective measures for system issues and quality defects.Develop and perform test protocols to evaluate design changes, product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.Develop plans and schedules for various On-site gas generation projects.Assist Supply Chain with procurement of equipment and spare parts for various projects.Support and troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, and supply chain related product issues.Support Sales by reviewing contract documentation, project specifications, and sales order review.Support Engineering by specifying equipment and components needed to meet customer specifications and assist with documentation submittal to customer.Project ManagementAssist with project start-ups, testing, plant service, and repair.Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.Domestic and International travel as needed.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.).TravelTypically, up to 25%.Requirements:BS Degree in Engineering-Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.Minimum Eight years engineering experience preferably in the design and manufacturing of industrial process plants and equipment. Experience reviewing contract documentation, project specifications, and sales ordersExperience handling multi-million dollar projects, documents submittals, client interfaceExperience working with industrial equipment such as blowers, compressors, motors, chillers, etc. is preferred.Ability to review P&IDs, electrical schematics, and other project related assembly drawings.Understanding of process control systems including PLCs and HMIs.Working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, and Office Suite programs.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work both independently and in team settings.Sound understanding of and demonstrated success applying fundamentals within mechanical design, statics, fluid dynamics, pressure vessels and thermodynamics.
