GL Staffing is seeking a manufacturing facility located in Tamarac, Fl, we are looking for a Quality EngineerThis is a Direct Hire with full benefits.Schedule is Monday to Friday (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)Salary range: $85 to 90/K yearlyOverview Quality Engineer:Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will provide technical expertise in performance excellence, Voice of the Customer (VOC), and process improvement efforts using quality management principles and lean techniques. This position follows a corporate quality policy with the main objective of preventing nonconforming products from reaching customers.Responsibilities Quality Engineer:Represent VOC in the facility and hold all team members to determined standards of excellence.Proven ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving meetings with root cause analysis (A3, 5-Why, Ishikawa) and corrective action plans follow-ups (8D).Perform reliability/repeatability (Gage R&R) and measurement system analysis.Develop and implement process auditing and measurement systems for internal and external processes.Coach Quality Control Inspectors and Process Auditors - TeachAudit products, work instructions and plant procedures for effectiveness and accurate use.Utilize Lean - TPS/SEE tools to investigate and communicate problem statements and root causes for customer, internal, and supplier concerns. (5S included)Actively participate in developing and implementing quick solutions for customers, including documenting containment, corrective, and preventive actions.Use statistical analysis to complete capability, verification, and validation assessments on internal and external processes and equipment.Analyze risk and prioritize tasks to ensure critical quality actions are completed on schedule.Ensure equipment is current, maintained, and calibrated.Respond to Andon quality requests.Use statistical analysis to complete capability, verification, and validation assessments on internal and external processes and equipment.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.Qualifications Quality Engineer:Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (mechanical engineering or similar).Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Experience with 5SProven ability to lead through teams and be an effective team member.Experience in quality management systems and Total Quality Management concepts.Ability to plan and direct own work with minimal direction.Proficiency in basic Lean Manufacturing tools or TPSKnowledge of statistical tools for problem-solving, process measurement, process control, and process improvement (e.g., SPC, Design of Experiment, Process Capability, and Gage R&R).Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (including MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project Manager).Working knowledge of Minitab statistical software (or similar)Lean Six Sigma experience / projectsCertified Quality Engineer (ASQ)Job Type: Full-timePay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
