Director - Quality & Safety | Luminis HealthAs the Director of Quality & Safety, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of patient care across Luminis Health's acute care hospitals and ambulatory practices. You will lead interdisciplinary teams in creating a high-reliability organization focused on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment where your leadership will drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes.Essential Job Duties:Strategic Leadership:Participate in the analysis, planning, and strategy formulation of organizational goals.Lead the development and refinement of quality and safety standards across hospital, ambulatory, and medical groups.Provide leadership and support in clinical performance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.Monitor and trend root cause analysis (RCA), ensuring corrective actions and updates.Manage projects and collaborate with data analysts to establish quality and patient safety measures.Safety and Compliance:Triage urgent safety events and alert leadership for resource activation.Educate clinical staff and trainees on quality improvement tools and patient safety processes.Lead and participate in the LH System Quality Council and LH Patient Safety Committees.Data Management and Reporting:Gather data from internal and external sources to establish benchmarks for quality and safety indicators.Collaborate with data specialists to provide reports to executives and service line councils.Apply high-reliability principles learned from national initiatives to improve LH's Quality and Safety Plan.Team and Resource Management:Supervise all staff within the LH Quality/Safety Department.Manage the department budget and allocate resources efficiently.Educational/Experience Requirements:M.S. degree in a healthcare-related field.5-8 years of healthcare experience with progressively complex management roles.5+ years of experience in Quality and Safety Management.Proficiency in continuous quality improvement methodologies (TeamSTEPPS, Lean SixSigma preferred).Knowledge of healthcare regulations (Joint Commission, CMS, NCQA, State of Maryland).Experience with high-reliability initiatives, Just Culture, and electronic quality data tools.Preferred Certifications:CPHQ or CPPS certification preferred.Current licensure as a registered nurse or equivalent clinical certification preferred.Additional Information:Physical Demands: Light work, occasionally exposed to blood-borne pathogens.Work Environment: Reasonable accommodations will be made in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.Disclaimer: This job description is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned as needed.About Luminis Health:Luminis Health, a newly integrated health system formed in 2019, serves residents of Anne Arundel County, Prince George's County, Calvert County, and Maryland's Eastern Shore.
