Job Summary:Willow Laboratories, Inc. is a medical technology innovator, guided by a mission to improve lives by making the impossible possible through innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Counsel to oversee all legal aspects of our business.Your duties will include ensuring that our company operates within the law at all times, offering counsel on legal issues, creating effective defense strategies, and enhancing business opportunities. The successful candidate will be able to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure, provide expert and strategic legal advice to management, and set internal governance policies. Must be self-driven and self-motivated to achieve results within established time frames.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Provide legal advice on a wide range of issues to ensure the company operates within legal guidelinesHandle or oversee the management of all legal matters, including contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, compliance issues, and litigationRepresent the company in legal proceedings, either directly or through managing external attorneysManage the company's intellectual property registrations and filingsPrepare and review company contracts, requests for proposals, and other legal documents Maintain knowledge on pertinent legislative and regulatory changes that may affect the company's operationsEstablish and maintain internal governance policiesProvide training to the company on legal topics and promote legal, compliance and risk management awareness within the companyCommunicate with outside counsel, clients, regulators and other stakeholdersDeliver results with strong emphasis on quality and timelines.Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Advanced law degree, such as a Juris Doctor degree or regional equivalentComprehensive knowledge of the law, such as corporate, labor, and appellate lawExceptional judgment for weighing inputs and evaluating potential courses of actionStrong leadership and decision-making skills based on ethics and integrityStrategic acumen and excellent problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Strong process orientation and documentation abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with exciting work and a fun team.Physical requirements/Work Environment:This position is full time on site, located in Irvine, CA. This position primarily works in an office. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. This position requires sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer display or other digital devices. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May require standing for extended periods when facilitating meetings, walking in the facilities. Some travel may be required so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
