McHale Landscape Design is searching for the next great Assistant Landscape Designer. An Assistant Landscape Designer is part of the design team and contributes to the design process and implementation of residential projects. You will assist in several aspects of the design, construction documentation and project administration services. Key tasks of the position will consist of site analysis, computer drafting, contractor coordination, sourcing materials, products and suppliers along with general administrative assistance.Who we are:McHale Landscape Design is a residential landscape architecture company and design-build firm dedicated to designing and constructing extraordinary residential gardens, pools, outdoor living areas, and home additions. Since 1981, the firm has designed, constructed, planted, and maintained residential projects throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia, including more than 300 award-winning landscapes.What an Assistant Landscape Designer does:Site analysis - field measurements, plant identification, the use of a laser level to record elevations, and confirmation of site drawings.Drafting - preparation of base map, designs, as-builts, and construction details, including master plans and perspectives.Site photography.Using Sketch-up, Lumion and PowerPoint to create 3-D models and slideshows for sales presentations.Proficiency in Vectorworks or CAD-based software to develop landscape and construction plans for field use.Perform take-offs of plans, prepare cost estimates, and develop Budget Cost Analysis for various projects.Collaborate with partnered professionals and assist in the permit process.Correspondence with clients during the design and installation process.On-site Design layout.Coordinate subcontractors and manage subcontractor agreements for assigned projects.Participate in design presentations and sales meetings with clientsYou will be a great fit if you have:Landscape industry Bachelor's degree or equivalent.2 or more years of experience within the landscape industry.Residential landscape experience preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Strong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated comfort working in a fast-paced environmentAre detail-oriented with time management and organizational skillsWhat we offer:Competitive annual salaryComprehensive benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance along with life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance is available for all full-time employeesPaid time off and holidaysMcHale Landscape Design is an equal opportunity employer.
